Prior to moving to Washington, D.C., Brett worked at The Daily Gazette in Schenectady, N.Y., where he reported on city and county government. He received his undergraduate degree in newspaper and online journalism from Syracuse University. He lives in Arlington, Va., with his wife and dog.
